If BOTW was trying to be like Zelda 1 it failed in the dungeon department. I think they should look at Zelda 1s dungeon design, non linear, optional items and so on.

About the DS ones: Phantom Hourglass is a dumbed down Wind Waker, while Spirit Tracks is good original fun with some amazing dungeons, bosses and lovable story/characters.
